On April 15, 2025, the unveiling ceremony of the Malanshan Micro-Drama AI Translation & Production Center was held at the MLS Lab conference room. Jointly established by MLS Lab, Hunan Zhongshijie Media, and Hunan TV International Channel, the center integrates leading AI-powered translation and dubbing technologies with strong content and distribution advantages for taking Chinese micro-dramas global.

Translation has long been a bottleneck for micro-dramas entering overseas markets. Traditional manual workflows often suffer from slow turnaround, limited talent availability, high costs, and inconsistent quality. For example, subtitling a 120-minute micro-drama typically requires at least three days. With MLS Lab’s AI Video Translation system, the same project can now be completed—subtitles and dubbing included—in just 4–5 hours.

Dr. Gan Weihao, Director of Media AI Technology Department at MLS Lab, introduced the lab’s one-stop AI video translation solution, which integrates large language models, voice cloning, speech separation, subtitle recognition, speech synthesis, and subtitle erasure. The system supports more than 20 languages, delivering high accuracy, emotional fidelity, and large-scale concurrent processing.

In 2025, the center is expected to produce over 10,000 high-quality translated micro-dramas for release in overseas markets. Going forward, the center will continue to tailor solutions for different scenarios, improve translation quality and efficiency, and enhance the commercial value of global content distribution.
